About Cortex Robotics

Our Story: From NTNU to Industry

Cortex Robotics is developing a pipe-climbing robot that makes external industrial inspection safer, more cost-effective, and data-driven. Our solution is built to reduce human exposure to risk, cut operational downtime, and unlock structured data insights for better maintenance decisions.

We're a multidisciplinary team of five students from NTNU in Trondheim. Daniel, Celine, Kristian, Ingeborg, and Oscar are taking their master's at the NTNU School of Entrepreneurship, where building a startup is part of the program — but for us, Cortex is much more than that. This is not just a study project; it's the company we're building to be our future workplace. Daniel, who studies mechanical engineering, first developed the idea in a product development course, and we've been developing it ever since.

All five of us work side by side every day from our shared office at Gløshaugen. With backgrounds in engineering, cybersecurity, communication technology, business law, and economics, we combine technical and business insight to solve a real industrial challenge. We're ambitious, and we're here to build something that matters.

We're lucky to be part of the strong NTNU School of Entrepreneurship network, and are grateful for the support and guidance we receive from experienced professors, alumni, and entrepreneurs. Cortex Robotics is further supported by an experienced Advisory Board with extensive insight into the problem space, drawn from both industry and academia.
